Sunday mornings during the Advent season:
Our worship music will be primarily Christmas themed as we celebrate this holiday remembering how God the Son took on flesh to one day die on the cross for our sins and be raised again. Pastor Mike plans to continue his verse-by-verse study through Colossians and when finished with that book, move into the Gospel of Luke.
Following the sermon, we will take time to light the Advent wreath and remember what each of the candles represent.
On the Sunday morning before Christmas, our children will be giving a special presentation at the beginning of the service.
Sunday evenings during the Advent season:
As a family affirming and fellowship driven church, we are pausing our normal teaching series on Sunday nights to give way to times of fellowship. On Sunday, November 30th at 6pm, we encourage you to bring any Thanksgiving leftovers (feel free to even experiment and make them into something new to share) and/or snacks as well as your favorite card or board game, as we enjoy some food and fun together. On Sunday, December 7th at 6pm, we will go caroling to bless some of our older saints. On Sunday, December 14th at 6pm, we will show the newest edition of "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" movie. We will conclude our Christmas Sunday evenings with a church Christmas party at 6pm, where there will be food and a white elephant gift exchange.
Christmas Eve (5:00-6:00pm):
Our Christmas Eve service is a special service of "Lessons and Carols" where the Word is read and Christmas music sung that reflects the full Gospel message from Creation to the Fall to Christmas and the future to come. During this service, we have a time where we turn off the lights, light candles (the children get electronic candles) and sing some well-loved Christmas hymns. This service is exactly an hour long so that families can get to dinners and other events.
